While the rest of the cast wasn’t seen in the reveal trailer, Donkey Kong looks better than ever and sporting his new updated look from the Super Mario Bros. Movie and Mario Kart World. In true DK fashion, players can use Donkey Kong’s strength and mobility like never before in a brand-new 3D adventure when Donkey Kong Bananza releases on July 17th. Whether you are pounding your way through stone, climbing to massive peaks, or rolling through the vibrant worlds, Donkey Kong Bananza looks to be a thrilling adventure as everyone’s favorite Kong.

Donkey Kong Bananza is a true 3D platformer starring DK but also has the side-scrolling levels the series is known for. These will take players through various beautiful worlds filled with enemies to face and bananas to collect. Donkey Kong Bananza looks to take advantage of the new and more powerful hardware of the Nintendo Switch 2. The Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5th, meaning fans will get a head start with the console before they’re able to play Donkey Kong Bananza.

Donkey Kong is capable of picking up slabs of rock to use as a weapon or as a ride. There appears to be a purple rock companion accompanying Donkey Kong on this adventure which will likely play an important role in the story. Donkey Kong can even sport new outfits, such as his miner attire and overalls.
While fans were given the July 17th release date, meaning it will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 shortly after the console’s launch, no price was given for Donkey Kong Bananza at this time, but more information will likely come. The official reveal joined many other announcements during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2nd.
