In a very curious meeting that could absolutely mean nothing but hopefully means a great deal, two insanely popular video game developers, Arc System Works and Riot Games, recently met up with each other at Riot’s home office in Los Angeles.

Arc System Works, the team that’s responsible for the creation of popular fighting games like Guilty Gear, BlazBlue and the upcoming, highly-anticipated Dragon Ball FighterZ, took a tour of Riot Games’ offices, the developer that’s responsible for the most-played game in the world, League of Legends. The meeting was announced through a tweet that was sent out through one of Arc System Works’ Twitter accounts.

If you’re not brushed up on your Japanese, just take a look at the picture to tell you everything that you need to know, a photo that leads to much more speculation when combined with this tweet that came out later from a separate Arc System Works account.
The hype-train continues. Thank you #RiotGames for the wonderful tour through your offices. @ArcSystemWorksU causing trouble again. ๐

That winky face at the end of the tweet is highly suspicious, and it easily leads to fantastic ideas of what the meeting could’ve been about. Fans of the games caught on quickly with these ideas and began pitching their own suggestions. Many of the ideas circulated around adding League of Legends champions to some of Arc System Works‘ games while the inverse of Arc System Works creating a League of Legends champion was also mentioned.
Of course, amid all these ideas, there’s the one possibility that would quite literally be the best of both worlds: A League of Legends fighting game that Arc System Works would either be assisting with or creating themselves while working with Riot Games.
With Riot Games recently acquiring Radiant Entertainment, the team behind the canceled fighting game Rising Thunder, speculation ran wild that the League developers might be considering a fighting game. The rumor has died down in the past, but this recent meeting has reignited hopes of a fighting game, especially seeing how the meeting was publicly announced. It could just be a meeting between industry professionals, but we sure hope that it’s a lot more than that.
