Last week Ubisoft announced and detailed For Honor‘s third season, entitled Grudge and Glory. The expansion will include two new Heroes, the Highlander and Gladiator, two maps, Viking Village and The Sentinel, and a huge patch that tweaks and rebalances various things about the multiplayer brawler.
Unfortunately, Ubisoft didn’t let us see all the new For Honor goodies in action when they first unveiled the DLC, but that changes now. The publisher has released four separate trailers, detailing the Highlander, Gladiator and new maps individually, and I have to say, this looks like the best For Honor update yet. Could this be the turnaround the game needs?

The New Heroes
Highlander (Viking Faction)
Stoic and guarded, Highlanders are patient heroes capable of switching between two different fighting forms. Their defensive form allows for counter-attacking and trading blows, while their offensive form empowers them to unleash their deadliest attacks at the expense of being able to block. Wielding the heaviest and longest sword in the game, the Highlander’s massive claymore gives them a deadly combination of strength and range.
Gladiator (Knight Faction)
Wielding a trident and shield, the Gladiator has made a living off of killing for sport, they now bring their ruthlessness and skill to war. Fighters by trade, they are brash and boastful; equipped with little armor, they can punch their opponents to create separation to set up attacks and stuns. Their larger stamina meter and reduced cool down times make them extremely agile and dangerous opponents.
The New Maps
Of course, each new Hero also gets an associated map โ the rustic Viking Village, with plenty of narrow paths for battling on, and the heavily-fortified castle, The Sentinel. Both look like they should provide some a whole host of new strategic possibilities.
As mentioned, the Grudge and Glory update also comes with a very large patch. It brings new legendary gear, a long-promised colorblind mode, and a HUGE list of bug fixes and balance tweaks. Seriously, you’ll need to set aside an afternoon to read it all. You can check out the full For Honor update 1.11 notes right here.
For Honor: Season III โ Grudge and Glory arrives on August 15 for season pass holders, and on August 22 for everybody else. For Honor is available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
