A Counselor clothing update is on the way for Friday the 13th: The Game that’ll give players more control over their chosen Counselor’s clothing options.

The update was announced over on the Friday the 13th: The Game site that’s recently been revamped to provide more clarity for players. While future clothing packs and a special spring break-themed DLC were already confirmed, the way that players equip those clothing options will also be changing soon.
“With the new Counselor Clothing Update, players will have much more control over what they want to wear as a Counselor,” the announcement reads. “Our old clothing system was pretty limited, only allowing you to choose between various material and color options for the default pieces of clothing available on each Counselor.”
Gun Media Knows Players Want to Look Stylish
Within the announcement, the Gun Media devsย acknowledge one important fact: Counselors need to look good while they’re dodging Jason’s slashes.
“We understand that as Counselors you want to look your best, so we have been hard at work on a full revamp of the clothing system, which now provides much more control and customization,” the announcement explains. “This revamp includes a new, streamlined clothing user interface (we know the old one was pretty clunky, sorry about that!), and behind the scenes, involves a system for swapping in and out skin masks and clothing meshes.”
The clothing update seems to be a large improvement from the cosmetic options that players are used to. Many players complained early on that the clothing choices weren’t different enough, similarities that made it seem like the later options weren’t worth the grind.
How the New Clothing System Works
With the new clothing update, customizing your Counselors couldn’t be any easier. After selecting an outfit, players will go deeper into the customization options.
“What this means for you as a player is that you will be able to choose brand new outfits in addition to the default ones, and also customize the look of each piece of clothing within each outfit,” the announcement continues. “To pick out your new threads, go to the customize screen for your favorite Counselor (Chad, obviously) and select Customize Clothing.”
Previewed in the photo above, the player will soon have options to choose different colors and patterns for their outfits. The choices will be saved to different outfits, and the shirts, pants, and shoes will all have their own options.
Chad is Confirmed to Receive a Speedo With the Spring Break DLC
But out of all the welcome news that came from the Counselor clothing announcement, perhaps the best news of all is that one of the most popular Counselors, Chad, will be outfitted with a Speedo in the upcoming DLC.
Previously, the Spring Break 1984 Clothing Pack only showed Tiffanyย in a bikini as a preview for the new cosmetics. Seeing her in her beach outfit quickly made players theorize what the rest of the Counselors would look like, and a reoccurring theory was that Chad would be showing plenty of skin.ย
The updated image for the Spring Break clothing DLCย now features Chad alongside Tiffany. Other Counselor clothing options were shown in a recent devย diaryย through quick video stills, but it still remains to be seen how all of the other Counselors will look.
