“Winter is coming… in July.” Sub-Zero is the second of three DLC characters on the way to Injustice 2 as part of Fighter Pack 1. This first fighter pack entitles players to the first three DLC characters including Sub-Zero, Red Hood, and, eventually, Starfire. Red Hood has been out for a little while now and quickly became a fan favorite. Sub-Zero will be the first cross-over character from the Mortal Kombat universe to appear in the game.
Sub-Zero is the first Mortal Kombat cross-over character, but likely not the last. In the course of teasing our first three DLC characters, players noticed some intriguing silhouettes in the background of the DLC reveal trailer. One of those silhouettes appears to be wearing a sun hat very similar to the one we see Raiden wear in most Mortal Kombat games. We’re all pretty sure that Raiden is on the way, but NetherRealm Studios has been known to troll its fans with character silhouettes in the past.
As for Sub-Zero, we’re still not sure how we feel about his play style just yet. With past characters NetherRealm has made a point to host special Watchtower livestreams to go in-depth to their movesets and show off their various combos. We haven’t seen a Sub-Zero themed Watchtower stream yet, but we very likely will. As soon as NetherRealm announce that stream and we know when we’ll get to take a deep-dive into Sub-Zero’s style, you better believe we’ll let you know.
Stay tuned to WWG for all things Injustice 2!
