Could the upcoming revival of Stephen King’s It possibly be as scary to us children of the 90s as the original TV miniseries? Those are some pretty big clown shoes to fill, but new technology means King’s classic tale can now terrify us in fresh ways.

Warner Bros. has released It: Float, a new cinematic VR experience that puts your face-to-face with all your clown related fears. In It: Float you follow a toy boat down into the murky, monster-infested sewers of the fictional town of Derry. Very bad idea! You then explore said sewers as the voice of Pennywise taunts you and the tormented kids scream about wanting to go home. Eventually, you’ll run into some rather menacing balloons and even Pennywise himself โ€“ brrrrr. Check out a brief trailer for It: Float above, and a few minutes of footage, below.

If you’d like to ruin your sleep, you can get It: Float for free via the official It website. The experience is can be viewed using most VR headsets (Oculus Rift, HTC Vive) using YouTube 360, Facebook 360, Littlstar, Samsung VR, or Jaunt VR. You can also just watch it as a 360-degree film on your PC or smartphone. But again, you probably shouldn’t do that, because really, who needs more murderous clowns in their lives?

It stars Bill Skarsgard (Allegiant, Hemlock Grove) as the story’s central villain, Pennywise. The movie’s plucky kid actors include Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special), Jeremy Ray Taylor (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip), Sophia Lillis (37), Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy), Chosen Jacobs (upcoming Cops and Robbers), Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween) and Nicholas Hamilton (Captain Fantastic).

It creeps into theaters (and your nightmares) on September 8, 2017.
