We’ve already heard whispers that there’s a new Dragon Age on the way following BioWare’s best-selling Dragon Age: Inquisition, but details have been far and few between in regards to what we can expect from the next adventure in the series. However, it appears that, whatever it is, we’ll be getting more than one.

Mike Laidlaw, the creative director for the Dragon Age franchise, has hinted that the game will be taking on some new territory, while maintaining the familiarity that fans have come to expect from adventures such as these. That said, it’ll be a while before it reaches the end game, as there are apparently not one but two games being planned out.
When a fan asked on Twitter about the next moves for the saga, Laidlaw noted, “There is no planned ending for DA. There is an evolving plan that tends to look 2 games ahead or so.”
That’s not to say we’ll be getting the games in any kind of successive order, nor any information that indicates when we’ll be seeing the first of those two games. But that said, it seems that BioWare has big plans ahead for the Dragon Age franchise.
For now, the team is focusing full steam ahead on Anthem, its big 2018 release, and it doesn’t appear that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be getting any new content, though that hasn’t been fully confirmed yet. Once Anthem is wrapped up and set to go, more than likely, the team’s effort will go into Dragon Age at that point.
We probably won’t know what’s happening with Dragon Age at least over the next few months, as Electronic Arts could make some kind of announcement around E3 time next year. For now, at the very least, fans can enjoy Dragon Age: Inquisition, available for a marked down price, as well as older games in the series. Well, Dragon Age: Origins, at least โ we know Dragon Age II didn’t exactly have a large legion of fans.
We’ll keep you informed once anything official is announced on the Dragon Age front.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is available now for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC.
