We’re waiting just as patiently as you are – well, trying to, anyway – for Square Enix to provide some kind of update for the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts III. For the time being, though, at least we have news regarding some cool stuff coming from one of the previously released games in the series.

Diamond Select Toys has announced that it will be releasing a series of figurines based on Square Enix’s best-selling sequel, which initially came out for PlayStation 2 but has since seen a re-release on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 with Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5. The toys will be available this fall, and will sell in packs of three, going for $25 each. That’s a pretty good value, especially considering that the toys look pretty good when it comes to recreating the look of characters in the game.
The first pack contains a Mickey figurine (as shown above), along with Axel and a Shadow, while the second pack features Sora, one of the long-time heroes of the saga, along with his signature Keyblade and two additional characters, Dush and a Soldier.
The figures have quite a bit of articulate detail, standing between four to seven inches tall and featuring varying points that make them look like their video game counterparts. They were put together by sculptor Oluf Hartvigson, who’s done a fair share of work for Sideshow Collectibles and its many statues in the past – so you know his reputation will go a long way in getting these figures into the hands of fans.
We’re down for collecting both packs, only because, well, we’re completionists, and all of these figures would look great sitting on our gaming shelf, alongside our cherished copies of the Kingdom Hearts games we have for PS4. More than likely, a lot of you fans may feel the same way.
Check out the attached gallery to see all these wonderful figures and the details they have to offer, then set aside some money in your wallet for purchasing them when they arrive later this year.
As for Kingdom Hearts III…hey, we can just keep waiting. Hopefully E3 will bring some new info.
