Hot on the heels of a successful San Diego Comic-Con presentation, Capcom has revealed a trio of new trailers for Monster Hunter World that runs down the weapons that are featured in the game.

The trailers are split up across three different types of weapons: the first focuses on light weapons, like the Sword and Shield, Dual Blades, Long Sword and Light Bowgun; the second looks at heavy weapons, including the Great Sword, Hammer, Lance, Gunlance and Heavy Bowgun; and the third explores technical weapons, including Switch Axe, Charge Blade, Insect Glaive, Hunting Horn and Bow. We've included all three trailers below.

Capcom also added a statement via a press release to go alongside the weapons:

"The three videos demonstrate that there's a vast range of unique weapons for players to choose from, whether they're new to the hunt or already a seasoned veteran. Each weapon type has a different overall playstyle and characteristics which are showcased in the videos. Swords and blades can be useful in cutting damage and executing fast paced attacks, impact weapons like hammers can cause high damage and stun opponents while ranged weapons such as bowguns allow you to attack beasts from afar. If the hunt is too overwhelming, support style weapons can be very useful such as the hunting horn which plays melodies that provide buffs for the team.

Depending on the type of foe and quest goals, it may prove useful to change gear mid-quest back at base camp. Players are never locked into one weapon type so they should keep different options on hand. Which weapons will you wield for the hunt?"

On top of that, the publisher has launched a new contest where players will be able to submit designs for weapons. You'll actually get some reward if you're one of the winning choices, as your design will appear in the finished Monster Hunter World game. You have until August 16, 2017 at 9:00 PM PDT to submit your designs, so get cracking.

There are plenty of weapons to check out here, so you'll no doubt find a favorite – no matter what you're into.

Monster Hunter World will release in early 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
