The news has been building up for the latest release in the Namco Museum series for the past few weeks, starting with the game’s announcement for Nintendo Switch, followed by the revealing of the GameCube game Pac-Man Vs. being thrown into the mix, just to add some bonus nostalgia.

Now comes some sweet news that fans will definitely want to hear โ€“ Namco Museum for Nintendo Switch has a release date! Bandai Namco Games has confirmed that the game will arrive on July 28th, and will sell for $29.99.

While not quite as loaded as other Namco Museum compilations that have been released in the past, this Nintendo Switch package has more than enough arcade goodness to go around. Along with the multiplayer-oriented Pac-Man Vs., the collection also includes the following old-school favorites, including a pair of titles debuting in Namco Museum for the first time:

  • Dig-Dug
  • Galaga
  • Galaga ’88
  • Pac-Man
  • Rolling Thunder
  • Rolling Thunder 2
  • Sky Kid
  • Splatterhouse
  • Tank Force
  • The Tower of Druaga

Now, there’s a catch when it comes to playing multiplayer in Pac-Man Vs., according to the publisher. You’ll actually need two local Nintendo Switch systems in order to play four player. The first player will control Pac-Man, while the other three will play ghosts that chase after him. While this may be a bit of a bummer โ€“ no online play or anything like that โ€“ at least the game will be fun if you can get a friend with a Switch to come over and play along. (It is portable, after all.)

Namco Museum will also see the debut of Rolling Thunder 2 and the original Splatterhouse in the collection. The Rolling Thunder sequel first appeared in arcades before coming to the Sega Genesis, while Splatterhouse found most of its fame on the Turbo-Grafx 16, as well as with its two Splatterhouse sequels on the Sega Genesis.

And, of course, you have two versions of Galaga to turn to, along with Dig-Dug, Pac-Man and a handful of other Bandai Namco favorites, complete with leaderboard support and various gameplay options.

We’ll bring you a review of Namco Museum shortly following the game’s release!
