We’ve known for some time that EA is bringing back its long-running Need for Speed series this year, but details about the racer have been rather sparse. The new Need for Speed will be developed by Ghost Games, who did the 2015 franchise reboot, and won’t require an online connection, but aside from that, the game’s a mystery.

Well, the official Need for Speed Twitter account may have dropped another tidbit of information. Late yesterday, they posted this image:

So, uh, what the heck are we looking at here? The view outside a plane’s window? The inside of a sauna? Whatever it is, it’s pretty unremarkable, even by teaser standards. Ah, but what if you were to take the image and crank up the contrast? Suddenly, this picture just got a whole lot more interesting!
As you can see, once you fiddle around with the image in Photoshop a bit, what appears to be a city skyline becomes visible. Some people have taken note of the pointy tower on the right, and guessed the new Need for Speed may take place in Seattle, but that tower doesn’t quite look like the Space Needle. Others have pointed out this looks more like the Las Vegas skyline, which would make more sense for a Need for Speed game.
The Need for Speed Twitter account’s teasing didn’t end here, as they’ve since posted another image:

Same skyline, except now we actually have a car in front of it. Do we see a little dust/dirt from the Nevada desert being kicked up behind the car? Hmmmm!
The next Need for Speed hits PC, Xbox One, and PS4 sometime this Fall.
