It looks like Amazon UK is just as excited as we are about the upcoming Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch. The British version of the online retail mega-giant just put up a pre-order for Pokemon Stars, with an expected release date of 2030.

For those of you who have hid in a hole for the last few months, Pokemon Stars is the name of a rumored sequel/companion game to Pokemon Sun and Moon, which was supposed to come out for the Nintendo Switch. The existence of Stars was thrown into doubt when The Pokemon Company announced Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, which will come out next year exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.

What’s more, The Pokemon Company also announced at E3 that a separate Pokemon game is currently under development for the Nintendo Switch, although it won’t be ready for at least another year…if not longer. Based on the Pokemon Company’s tentative timeline, it’s more likely that the new Pokemon Switch game will be the start of a new generation of Pokemon games, instead of a follow-up to an older game.

So, does Amazon’s listing mean that Pokemon Stars is real and about to be announced during Nintendo’s Treehouse livestream at E3 today? Well, no. Likely, this is just a pre-order page for the unnamed Pokemon Switch game and is using the Pokemon Stars name either as a placeholder or as a holdover to before those original Pokemon Stars rumors were disproven.

However, if you live in the UK and don’t want to wait for more details about the Pokemon Switch game (like a title…or a release date), you can pre-order your game today.
