Nintendo Switch owners will soon be able to join the fast-paced, goal-scoring action of Rocket League when the game finally released on the console in November.

In an announcement from Psyonix, the developers confirmed that the soccer-with-cars game would be coming to the Nintendo Switch on Nov. 14, a date that's quickly approaching and is probably a bit sooner than some Switch owners had anticipated. Within that version, players will be able to experience everything that Rocket League offers to the other platforms as well as some exclusives and the potential for cross-play.

Keeping in line with the ever-expanding customization options that Rocket League players have, the Nintendo Switch port will have its own exclusive cars that are made after some of the most iconic games that the company has to offer. Three Switch-only cars are coming with this version, one for Mario and one for Luigi with the third being a superb rendition of Samus' Gunship from the Metroid games. You can see all three of the special cars shown in the trailer above that highlights the Battle-Cars' flashy new styles.

But on the completely opposite end of the spectrum from exclusivity is the cross-platform capabilities that come with the Nintendo Switch version. If you're a Switch owner with friends on PC or Xbox One, or vice versa, you won't be limited to only your preferred platform when playing Rocket League. Instead, you'll be able to take part in online matches with other players who are active on each of the three versions mentioned, a feature that's been pushed by Rocket League, Minecraft, and several other games recently.

Unfortunately, you'll notice that one console company is not mentioned among those that have cross-platform play. Sony still doesn't seem to be inclined to partake in the unified agreement to let players score against each other and blow up Battle-Cars across consoles, a topic that's been heatedly debated since Sony announced their stance.

If you're planning on picking up Rocket League on the Nintendo Switch, you can do so through the Nintendo eShop on Nov. 14 for just $19.99 or the equivalent for your region.
