Plaid Hat Announces New Stuffed Fables Board Game

The makers of games like Mice and Mystics and Ashes are back, and this time they’re diving into the world of fables.

The new game is called Stuffed Fables, and like the extraordinarily popular Mice and Mystics, this too will be a narrative-focused board game for multiple players. Stuffed Fables puts you into the role of several stuffed animals (named stuffies) that seek to protect their owner from an evil mastermind who makes their home in the Fall, a realm ruled by nightmares.

As you can see in the gallery, the game is designed around a storybook in a unique new way. The right side of the book displays the rules and scenario text while the left side acts as the board you play on.

Dice rollers will love this game, as it acts as the main combat and action mechanic. Players will pull five dice from a bag to determine their actions. Black dice eventually get minions to appear, while red act as melee attacks and green as ranged. White dice can be used to heal injuries and yellow dice allow players to search, while blue dice allow special actions, and purple dice are player’s choice.

Plaid Hat has always had a knack for beautiful art design and charming characters, and Stuffed Fables looks to continue that excellent tradition. The game will be shown at Gen Con, so make sure to stop by booth #1537.
