Clearly, the best item in the Scream collection is a Ghostface knife block that you can stab with up to 4 knives. That would be followed by the Ghosface cookie jar which is out of stock at Spirit Halloween but can be ordered here at Spencer’s. Third on the list would be the Ghostface utensil holder shaped like his bloody knife. Rounding out the list is the Ghostface chip & dip set littered with little ghostfaces and knives and a bloody rim, and the Ghostface cutting board. All items are priced between $16.99 – $34.99. Now that you’ve had the main course, let’s talk about dessert with my Scream movie ranking below.

If you’re not preparing for Halloween in your free time, then what are you doing? It’s already September and October will be here quickly. Will you be throwing a Halloween party? Attending one? What will you dress up as? If those aren’t the questions you’re asking, you better get a move on! Maybe a themed movie marathon will put you in the Spooky season mood, and the Scream series is the best franchise to do that with. While we wait for Scream 7 (now a contentious, and maybe too fan-servicey sequel), I thought it would be a perfect time to give fans my ranking of the series. While I won’t dive into each of these decisions too deeply, the following list will hopefully give fans a place to start with this wonderfully horrific and campy series. Check out my ranking below.

6. Scream 6 – While the opening of this one is one of the best openings since the original, Scream 6 leaves more to be desired. Barrera’s performance is better in this one than in Scream 5, so that’s a point in the movie’s favor. But the sequel strategy of revisiting previous movies is unfortunately very tiring, and that’s what this movie really leans on. Hayden Panettierre’s Kirby is fun to see again, but overall kind of useless. Unfortunately this sequel just didn’t do it for me.

5. Scream 3 – While usually cited as the worst of the franchise, Scream 3 does have some fantastic comedy and wonderful performances. Parker Posey’s Jennifer Jolie is one of the best (and funniest) characters of the series. Plus, the Hollywood set of Sidney Prescott’s original home from Scream is a way better way to revisit the original than what was attempted in Scream 6.

4. Scream 5Scream 5 was our first film back after the 11 year wait between Scream 4 and Scream 5, and for that reason, I think Scream 5 did a fantastic job bringing fans back and showing us again why we loved the series. Wonderful, creative, gruesome kills (during the daytime, no less!) left chills for the audience in the theaters. Jenna Ortega solidified her place as a Scream Queen, and the film garnered enough love that another sequel was green lit fairly quickly.

3. Scream 4 – While not loved by everyone, I think this one has an amazingly meta opening sequence that starts people off in the right place. After a 10 year hiatus between this and Scream 3, Scream 4 had to make a point, and in my opinion, it made that point ten times over. Scream 4 should’ve been the launching point for this series in the 2010s, but unfortunately we’d have another 10 year wait to get through.

2. Scream 2Scream 2 in second place just felt right. To have a successful sequel at all is cause for celebration. Scream 2 brought back the main cast for another harrowing adventure, but still kept our attention with brutal kills (Randy :(, Cici :() and a climactic scene filled with symbolic imagery and bloody endings. Scream 2 will always be close to my heart – it’s the first Scream I ever dared to watch on my own and it truly jumpstarted my horror journey.

1. Scream – The man, the myth, the legend, Scream really started it all. With Drew Barrymore’s entirely surprising demise at the beginning of the film, Wes Craven solidified Scream’s place in horror history. Scream continues to be the blueprint for many horror slashers that have followed. Its mastery of comedy and tension has been attempted many times over, and none have done it just as well. The original Scream keeps its place in the number one slot.
