Is Zac Efron joining the Halloween sequel?

Efron started the chatter when he put out the following tweet:

That small photo op led certain news outlets to assume this was an official confirmation that Efron had joined the next Halloween movie. As fast as franchise fans started getting triggered by the news (either happily or angrily), a quick and decisive debunking came from horror movie site, Bloddy-Disgusting:

It’s hard not to lean towards BD’s claim on this one. The site has close ties to John Carpenter and the Halloween franchise; plus, there’s the fact that Efron never actually announced himself as part of the cast – if anything, he seemed to just be sharing an ironic photo taken with the queen of the Halloween franchise, on Halloween.

Funny enough, Efron will next be seen playing a real-life killer, as he stars as serial killer Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
