While it might sound like a clickbait one-liner, but according to Simone Missick, the actress really did get shot while playing Misty Knight on the set of Luke Cage. During a recent interview with Metro, Missick said she naively listened to the 'wise' words of the special effects team and went through with a stunt that left her a bit battered.

"I got shot in the face!" she explained before clarifying the statement. Apparently, the actress turned down a stunt double while filming a scene and apparently got shot with a squibb round for her efforts.

"Our lovely special effects team were like: 'No, no! Don't use a double. You'll be fine!' and I said: 'Alright guys! I'll trust you this time even though I've heard horrible things!' And I got shot in the face and got a dozen roses the next day."

Apparently, that wasn't the only kind of behind-the-scenes chaos caused on the set of Luke Cage. Missick admitted she busted someone's lip during shooting after she threw a pair of handcuffs. The actress said, "I also threw handcuffs at somebody and busted their lip right before the Thanksgiving holidays, so I'm not perfect."

Given the action-packed nature of Luke Cage, it isn't surprising to hear that some actors came away from filming beaten and bruised. Earlier this year, Mike Colter revealed that he took a bat to the face while shooting an intense fight sequence.

The actor appeared on AMC's Geeking Out and said he got whacked over the head after a stunt baseball bat malfunctioned. The objected failed to break apart as planned, leaving a wayward piece to strike Colter in the head and giving him "complete numbness" on the left side of his face.

Ouch!
