Last Week, news broke that Suicide Squad director David Ayer would reteam with star Margot Robbie in reprising her role as Harley Quinn with a new movie based on DC Comics‘ Gotham City Sirens.

The Gotham City Sirens comic book series brought together three of Gotham City’s most popular female criminals – Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman – for a unique series.
But why should DC Comics have all of the fun? Marvel Comics also a plethora of great female characters, and they too have sometimes come together to form all-female groups that would shine either on film or on television.
Here are five such superhero teams.

A-Force
A-Force was a concept original realized during theย Secret Wars crossover. The superheroine, which included Baroness She-Hulk, protected the realm of Arcadia on Battleworld.
Whenย Secret Wars ended and the Marvel Earth-616 universe reformed, Singularity, a unique being from Battleworld, survived the transformation and sought out the members of A-Force that she knew in Arcadia.
This leads to the formation of an ad hoc, all-female Avengers squad. The team is led by She-Hulk, and also includes Captain Marvel, Medusa, Dazzler, Nico Minoru, Singularity herself, and a version of Dazzler that was a member of the Thor Corps on Battleworld.
The team also hunted a rogue dragon. Who doesn’t want to see that?

X-Men
Profess X may have named his team of team of mutant students the X-Men, but many of the team’s most popular and significant characters have been women.
This was shown to be true whenย X-Men was relaunched in 2013 with an all-female roster. When confronted with a new threat that followed Jubilee hom to the Jean Grey School, the X-Men’s longtime leader Storm formed a team consisting of Rogue, Psylocke, Kitty Pryde, and Rachel Grey. When Kitty Pryde left the Jean Grey school and Rogue briefly died, the two were replaced on the team by M and the human Karima Shapander.
The team even went up against the all-female Sisterhood of Evil Mutants that included Lady Deathstrike, Enchantress, Typhoid Mary, the sentient virus Arkea, Slene, and Madelyne Pryor.

Lady Liberators
The original Lady Liberators team was a poor caricature of feminism created in the 1970s, as the Enchantress duped the female members of the Avengers into betraying their male comrades.
The Lady Liberators reconvened after the Red Hulk assaulted She-Hulk. Looking for payback, She-Hulk teamed up with Thundra and Valkyrie to hunt down the Red Hulk and discern his secret identity.
The Red Hulk proved tough to handle for even these three powerful heroines. Luckily, they got some reinforcements sent their way, including Hellcat, storm, Spider-Woman, Tigra, Black Widow, and the invisible Woman.
Together, the Lady Liberators defeated the Red Hulk. Another team of Lady Liberators formed later that included She-Hulk, Jazinda, Invisible Woman, Valkyrie, Storm, Thundra, Lyja the Lazerfist, and female Guardians of the Galaxy members Gamora, Mantis, and Quasar.
This kind of loose confederation of heroes would make a great subject for anย ensemble cast show or movie.

Fearless Defenders
The classic Defenders are known for being the oddball hero team founded by Doctor Strange, Silver Surfer, the Hulk, and Namor. Thanks to the Netflix Marvel television series, the Defenders are being rebranded for the modern age as street-level heroes, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
For a brief time in-between these two interactions, the Fearless Defenders took that mantle. The team was led by Valkyrie of Asgard, who was tasked by Odin with replenishing the ranks of the Valkyrior with heroes of Midgard.
The Valkyrior that came to make up the core cast of the team were Valkyrie, Misty Knight, Dani Moonstar, and Warrior Woman, but the series featured frequent guest appearances by other female Marvel heroes like Clea, Elsa Bloodstone, and the female Nova, Frankie Raye.

Spider-Women
Spider-Women the name of an event that brought several spider-themed heroines together for adventure across the multiverse.
The Spider-Women group includes Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, Cindy Moon, aka Silk, and Gwen Stacy of Earth-65, aka Spider-Woman or Spider-Gwen.
After meeting the other heroes during theย Spider-Verse event, Spider-Woman decided to make it her responsibility to help train Silk and Spider-Gwen.
All goes well until Spider-Woman and Silk, both residents of Earth-616, are pulled into Spider-Gwen’s Earth-65 and stranded there. The trio works together to fight back as alternate timelines version of themselves try to usurp their places in their own lives.
Sony was rumored to have been working on a Spider-Man female hero team movie a while back. This would make a good one.
