One of the newest Marvel television properties, the X-Men inspired series The Gifted, made its San Diego Comic-Con debut last weekend.

The show made waves with the unveiling of a new trailer, as well as a gene testing facility on the convention’s grounds (yes, really). But it appears that a highlight for the show’s cast involved quite a run in with Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee.

The ensemble cast of The Gifted were all smiles with Lee in a recently released Twitter photo, which you can see below.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that The Gifted‘s stars have crossed paths with Lee. The icon’s penchant for cameo appearances in Marvel properties will carry over to The Gifted, with Lee filming his appearance back in April. The cameo will be the fourth collaboration between Lee and X-Men director Bryan Singer, who directed The Gifted‘s pilot episode.

Not much else is known about Lee’s cameo, but The Gifted star Stephen Moyer complimented the legend’s work ethic during an interview last month. Fans will just have to keep an eye out for Lee’s cameo when The Gifted premieres in October.

The Gifted tells the emotional story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family seeks help from an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.

Set within the “X-Men” universe, the series stars Stephen Moyer (SHOTS FIRED, “True Blood”), Amy Acker (“Person of Interest”), Natalie Alyn Lind (GOTHAM) and Percy Hynes White (“Night at the Museum 3”) as the STRUCKER family. Also featured in the series are Sean Teale (“Reign”) as ECLIPSE/MARCOS DIAZ; Jamie Chung (GOTHAM) as BLINK/CLARICE FERGUSON; Emma Dumont (“Aquarius”) as POLARIS/LORNA DANE; Blair Redford (“Satisfaction”) as THUNDERBIRD/JOHN PROUDSTAR; and Coby Bell (“Burn Notice”) as Sentinel Services Agent JACE TURNER. The series is written by Matt Nix (“Burn Notice”), directed by Bryan Singer (the “X-Men” franchise”) and executive-produced by Nix, Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Apocalypse,” “X-Men: Days of Future Past”) and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

The Gifted premieres on Oct. 2 on Fox, with a pilot episode directed by veteran X-Men movies director Bryan Singer.
