Spoilers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 follow!
While Yondu’s reveal of being Peter Quill’s real father, though not by blood, was the clear cut emotional impact of the film. It seems as though the heroic sacrifice made by the blue Ravager would heavily impact Peter Quill but the Chris Pratt character is not alone in feeling the loss. Kraglin, portrayed by Sean Gunn, might be carrying the torch for Yondu when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 rolls around.

“I think that Kraglin was fiercely loyal to Yondu all the time, and from Kraglin’s point of view, he doesn’t seem to be as loyal to the Ravagers as the Ravagers have been to him,” Gunn said. “But then I think it’s through Yondu’s selflessness that Kraglin learns where his heart was and it brings things around…You never know where the story is going to go, but I know that Kraglin certainly learned something from Yondu’s sacrifice.”
One clear way for Kraglin to carry the torch for Yondu is to continue developing his skillset with the iconic arrow and fin. Whether or not this will occur is still unclear, though. “Well, I don’t know,” Gunn said. “I think one of the fun parts about my job is that once the movie’s over, I can step back and just be a fan for a little bit. I don’t really know what’s going to happen with Kraglin. I know where he is at the end of the movie, just like you do, which is that he’s working on making that arrow fly. But who knows where that will end up. I have no idea, really.”
In fact, Gunn appears to be in the dark about most aspects of Kraglin and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s immediate plans for him, though he does have a vague picture of when he’ll be getting involved with it more thoroughly.
“None of those dates are set in stone, but my guess is that there will be if not a script than at least some sort of sense of where the story is headed… It’s going to be a little bit,” Gunn said. “Probably another six months or so. I’ll have a better clear picture of where the story is going to go for the third movie, but I really don’t know at this point. I don’t even know if I’m in it. I mean, you really just never know.”
Gunn’s role as Kraglin and motion capture performance as Rocket can be seen in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as fans eagerly await the arrival of Avengers: Infinity War by picking up a copy of the film on blu-ray when it releases on August 22.
