Agents Of SHIELD Season 4 Finale: World's End Recap With Spoilers

Fitz tries to explain AIDA’s nature to Simmons, saying that she is neither human nor Inhuman. He dwells on the lethal experiments he performed on Inhumans in the Framework to give AIDA her power.

Daisy is trying to extract Yo-Yo from the Framework, but there are changes being made to the code as they’re looking at it.

A Hydra agent finds Yo-Yo, but Radcliffe rescues her. He knew she was in the Framework because Daisy kept coding yo-yos into his pockets. However, AIDA is in the process of shutting down the Framework.

Aida is planning to use the Darkhold to take over the world and makes SHIELD suffer. The Hell Charger drives up towards the truck AIDA loaded. Ghost Rider gets out and approaches the Superior. He’s looking for the Darkhold and begins fighting AIDA’s henchmen and burns AIDA’s arm with his Hellfire chain. When he realizes she’s not a robot anymore, he demands to know what she’s done. They fight, but AIDA quickly teleports away.

Coulson gets a call from Talbot. Mace’s autopsy report leaked and now SHIELD may go down. He needs Coulson at a hearing tomorrow to defend SHIELD, but as long as AIDA is out there his presence would only put others in danger. Daisy shows up and tells Coulson that Robbie Reyes stole his car out of SHIELD impound. Daisy meets up with Robbie.

AIDA is confused as to why she can’t heal her arm. The Superior points out that Ghost Rider comes from the same darkness that made her.

Robbie tells Coulson and Daisy that he’s connected to dark world and dark matter. Aida’s new body caused a tear in the dark world. The Ghost Rider hates AIDA more than anything and wants to send her and the Darkhold back where they belong.

Radcliffe brings Yo-Yo to Mack at SHIELD headquarters. He’s noticed that things and people are disappearing all around them.

Aida has replaced a senior analyst on the SHIELD omission with an LMD who is taking the Superior in with him. The Superior challenges Talbot and presents the commission the Darkhold as a means to defeat the Inhumans. Talbot challenges him, but a Daisy LMD walks in and shoots Talbot in the head. SHIELD arrives and shoots the Superior and the other LMD in time to find Talbot with a pulse, but Talbot’s second still believes it was Daisy and SHIELD who shot him.

Daisy finds AIDA and the LMD. Ghost Rider reveals himself and burns the Daisy LMD. Aida teleports away. Ghost Rider and Daisy fight off another group of LMDs. The Superior shows up and Daisy and Ghost Rider pull off a team-up maneuver to take the LMD out quickly.

Back on the Zephyr, SHIELD pieces together that the video of Daisy’s LMD killing Talbot will sow distrust towards SHIELD and Inhumans and begin creating the fascist state that existed in the Framework. Coulson hatches a plan to use the Darkhold as bait and have Ghost Rider destroy AIDA. They head back to base.

In The Framework, Mack’s bus is stuck in a traffic jam. All transmissions have gone dead. Yo-Yo tries to tell him who she is. She tries to tell him that the world around him is coming to an end and he needs to get out. The road in front of the bus and all of the other people inside the bus disappear. The rest of them are only still there because Fitz and the others are protecting them. Mack says that its time to go home.

Coulson and May lay in wait for AIDA. Daisy is working on a backdoor out of the Framework for Yo-Yo and Mack. Fitz and Simmons are in the server room and AIDA teleports inside.

Yo-Yo struggles with the idea that Mack may die in the Framework, and Hope overhears her saying that Hope isn’t real.

AIDA stabs Simmons in the chest with a screwdriver.

Coulson tells May about what happened with the May LMD. They agree to step back and once all of this is over and see where things go.

Fitz begs AIDA, but she drives the screwdriver in deeper and twists. Simmons tells Fitz that he did this. Fitz offers to take AIDA to the Darkhold, but AIDA electrocutes Simmons and teleports away.

AIDA finds the Darkhold with Coulson by the Dark Dimension portal. Simmons opens fire on AIDA from behind, revealing the one with Fitz was an LMD. Coulson grabs AIDA and transformers into Ghost Rider. He chains the two of them together and she teleports them away.

AIDA and Ghost Rider falls from the sky back into the underground base where he burns her to ash and bone.

Yo-Yo pleads with Mack again as the Framework continues to fall apart. A door, Daisy’s backdoor, appears in Mack’s home. Yo-Yo decides that if Mack is going to stay in the Framework, she will as well. Mack hugs Hope until she disappears in his arms. Daisy loses sight of Mack’s code. Yo-Yo wakes up in the real world. Mack wakes up soon after.

Coulson and Robbie talk about Ghost Rider. There’s some secret reason that Ghost Rider made the deal with Coulson, but Coulson asks Robbie to keep it a secret for the time being until he’s ready.

Mack and Yo-Yo reconcile over what happened in the Framework and they kiss.

Robbie says his goodbyes uses his hellfire chain to create a portal. He tells Coulson that he doesn’t envy him. Coulson returns the sentiment and walks through the portal.

Mack arrives and tells them that Talbot is alive, but the government is coming for SHIELD. Fitz volunteers to claim full responsibility for what happened and give himself over. Daisy reminds Fitz that she tried to blame herself for everything not long ago and says they’re all in this together. She tells Fitz that he has nothing to apologize for, and they all agree to pay whatever price may come together.

In the Framework, Radcliffe watches the sunset as the Framework world ends around him. He disappears mid-toast.

The SHIELD team enjoys a meal together at a diner. The lights go out and soldiers and an agent enter. The agent uses a device to freeze the SHIELD team in place and take them into custody.

Coulson wakes up on a spaceship or outpost in space. He takes a moment to enjoy the view and then gets back to work.
