However, there is one special easter egg from the film that didn’t quite make the cut. When Siegel visited the set of Doctor Strange earlier this year, he noticed a rather peculiar prop that caught his eye. When he asked about the rogue weapon, Siegel learned Doctor Strange originally had a Dark Knight easter egg that was eventually scrapped.

The item that Siegel spotted was none other than the Dark Knight’s iconic sword, the Ebony Blade. Often compared to King Arthur’s Excalibur, the Black Knight wielded the cursed sword after it was crafted from a meteor.

Propmaster Barry Gibbs told ComicBook.com, “”It was [going to be in the movie]. That was going to go into a book called the Lexicon of Relics, but the Ebony Blade was taken out of the script. I don’t quite know why. Again, as things evolved, it wasn’t pertinent to the script. Things just moved on.”
