A lot of characters will be teaming up and meeting, creating interesting dynamics that we’ve yet to see on screen. Co-director Joe Russo revealed the pairing of Spider-Man and Doctor Strange will be very interesting for fans due to their interactions.
“There’s a really great chemistry there,” Russo said to Good Morning America at Disney’s D23 Expo. “They both have a proximity to each other, if that’s a hint that I can give. But anybody who’s a Marvel fan will know that they both reside in the same city. I think Tom [Holland] and Benedict [Cumberbatch] have a really wonderful chemistry and we wanted to exploit that.”

That’s a surprising pairing but given the interviews Holland and Cumberbatch have given at the event it’s not surprising. They’re both charming actors and embody the traits of their characters, despite existing on complete opposite ends of the spectrum for science and magic in the Marvel Universe.
We’re excited to see how those worlds collide and how they work with each other when Avengers: Infinity War premieres in theaters on May 4, 2018.
