Avengers: Infinity War is rolling into theaters with the biggest bad of the Marvel Cinematic Universe sporting a certain golden glove which can destroy worlds on an endless basis.

For those unfamiliar, the Infinity Gauntlet is the golden glove in reference which houses the six Infinity Stones, the most powerful objects in the Marvel Universe. They are the Soul, Time, Power, Space, Mind and Reality stones, each offering a certain absolute ability to the beholder.
In order to defeat Thanos, the Mad Titan who will be in control of those gems and the Gauntlet, the Avengers and their new allies in Infinity War will need to snatch the Gauntlet from the villain and possibly even use it against him. If the Infinity Gauntlet story from Marvel Comics is any indication, that’s exactly how it will go down.
On the following slides, we take a look at the Marvel characters most likely to wield the Infinity Gauntlet in Avengers: Infinity War…
Captain America
When the time comes for a hero to make the right decision and take on the powers offered by the Infinity Gauntlet, no one will be more trustworthy with the responsibility than Steve Rogers.
Captain America has worn the Gauntlet in Marvel Comics before. The hero assembled the Infinity Stones into its holsters to prevent Earths from colliding but, in doing so, destroyed each Stone (“Gem” in comic terms) except the Time Stone.ย
If the Avengers manage to stop Thanosย and Captain America survives the efforts, he will be all but unanimously elected to wear the Gauntlet and set things right in the world. In fact, he will likely campaign to wear the Gauntlet, seeing himself as the best candidate to right Thanos’ wrongs with no questions of trust coming into play.

Nebula
In 1991’sย Infinity Gauntlet story sees Nebula take the Gauntlet from Thanosย to restore her own health and make an effort to conquer the universe on her own. Ultimately, heroes such as Doctor Strange, Adam Warlock, and the Silver Surfer managed to trick Nebula into using the Gauntlet to undo the destruction caused by Thanos.
The downfall of Nebula was helped by Thanos, as her father aligned with the heroes to help take her down, but it was all-around a victory for the good guys.
Given Nebula’s upcoming arc in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and the already known family struggles she has been experiencing, Nebula’s efforts in Infinity Gauntlet might be accurately realized in the movies.

Adam Warlock
In Marvel Comics, Adam Warlock possesses the Infinity Gauntlet on multiple occasions.ย
If the Marvel character is introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the Avengers: Infinity War movies, he is a safe bet for a character who will wear the Gauntlet. In the comics, he is deeply tied to the Soul Gem and ultimately takes the Gauntlet and purges himself of good and evil. While wearing the Gauntlet, Warlock is strictly a creature of logic, making decisions of right and wrong and keeping all actions fair.
Ultimately, Warlock forms a group called the Infinity Watch, consisting of himself, Drax, Pip, Gamora, Moondragon, and a reformed Thanos.

Peter Quill
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has provided very few characters opportunities to interact with Infinity Stones. Clint Barton (Hawkeye) was controlled by one and Thor had an interesting dream about them in Avengers: Age of Ultronย but outside of those two characters, the heroes have little to know experience with the powerful Stones.ย
Star-Lord proved his willingness to sacrifice himself for his family of heroes at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy and gained a bit of confidence around the stones in doing so. If an opportunity presents itself for someone to snatch the Gauntlet and use its powers, Quill won’t shy away from rushing to be that person.

Black Panther
One hero who many fans wouldn’t suspect of being interested in the Gauntlet is Black Panther. However, T’Challa is eager to lead.
The Wakandan leader will likely play a crucial role in Avengers: Infinity War as he continues to evolve as a leader. Captain America: Civil War saw T’Challaย learn how to put anger and thirst for revenge to the side in favor of justice. When heroes like Tony Stark will be quick to want Thanosย killed when a risky opportunity pops up, Black Panther might be of the camp that they should strategically take him out and remove the Gauntlet.
In the comics, Doctor Strange has provided Black Panther with a fully formed Infinity Gauntlet in the past in an effort to challenge Doctorย Doom and his Beyonderย powers in Marvel’s Secret Wars.ย
