Along with the release of the biggest Marvel movie to date came a whole new basket of Easter Eggs. Those are everyone’s favorite part, right?

Having seen the movie a few times now, I can piece together a list of hidden extras from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and other little Disney references. Be warned, as we take a look at the list of Easter Eggs in Civil War, that does mean any and all spoilers are fair game.
Let’s take a look at the Easter Eggs from Captain America: Civil War.
D23

ย
The all-Disney convention which is held in Anaheim, California every other year was referenced when Buckyย was arrested and held prisoner.
The holding cell was labeled on its left side “Gate D” and on the right side, “23,” a clear reference to Disney’s Expo.
Later, Zemo was held in Gate D 38, which is not a reference to anything we’ve figured out yet.
Homecoming

In April, Sony revealed that the title of the upcoming standalone Spider-Man film would be “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” which will also feature Robert Downeyย Jr.’s portrayal of Tony Stark.
Sure, Stark’s relationship with Spider-Man in Civil War is one thing, but “Homecoming” was referenced early in the film during Bucky’s brainwashing. While the HYDRA agents would say their words which made The Winter Soldier fall in line, one of the last word’s was, “Homecoming.” No chance that’s a coincidence when the other words were random numbers and things like, “Freight car,” and “benign.”
The Force is Strong
Reaching for the Spider-Man eggs first, Peter Parker made a fun reference to Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back during the epic airport battle scene.
After Scott Lang transformed from Ant-Man to Giant-Man, Team Iron Man was desperate for a way to take him down. Youngling Spider-Man had a brilliant idea: something he saw in a “really old movie, Empire Strikes Back!”
He referenced the “snow planet” of Hoth and wrapped his webs around Giant-Man’s feet so that Iron Man and War Machine could deliver a final blow and take him off of his feet.
Strapped In?

ย
Ant-Man riding on Hawkeye’sย arrow was a pull straight from a classic Avengers comic book cover.
The moment was one many fans expected but seeing it realized on the big screen was epic. “You strapped in?” Hawkeye asks Ant-Man before launching him straight at Iron Man and into his suit.
“Uh, this is your conscience! We haven’t talked much lately,” Ant-Man said as he tore the suit apart from the inside.
Director Cameo

ย
One of the more gruesome moments of Captain America: Civil War showed a dead man in a bath tub – something the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not very privy to.
That dead man was played by one half of Captain America: Civil War‘sย sibling director team: Joe Russo.
The Russo brothers previously directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and will go on to direct to the third and fourth installments of the Avengers franchise.
Stan Lee Cameo

ย
Another cameo, the one we are always waiting for, came late in the game.
During Rhodey’sย recovery, a FedEx delivery man called out that he had a package for “Tony Stank.” That FedEx delivery man was played by Marvel genius Stan Lee!
Lee has appeared in almost every Marvel film to date.
More Cameos

ย
There were a few other cameos in Civil War.
The first was Damionย Poitier. Though Josh Brolinย has taken over the role and will continue with it through the third and fourth Avengers films, Poitierย originally played Thanosย in the post-credits scene for The Avengers back in 2012. In Civil War, he can be seen as one of Crossbones’ thugs.
Later in the film, Community‘s Jim Rash is seen as a M.I.T. employee and a not-so-different character by comparison. The leap from Greendale to M.I.T. is pretty impressive, though.
ย
Spider-Signal

ย
The post-credits scene which featured Tom Holland’s Peter Parker was not only a tease of things to come in 2017’s Homecoming but also a pull from the 1960’s animated Spider-Man series.
Though Parker had to hide it from his Aunt May, the Spider-Signal beaming from his wrist was likely some new Stark tech which we will see explored when his standalone film rolls around.
Civil War Moments

ย
Though Captain America: Civil War deviated from the original Marvel Comics storyline a considerable amount, it kept some key moments in tact and featured them in the movie.
First, Tony Stark encountering an angry woman who lost her son at the hands of some heroes was largely what inspired Stark to side with the Accords. In the comics, the woman spit in Stark’s face as he attended her son’s funeral. Aside from that, the message was the same. The woman’s name is Miriam, or Miriam Sharpe in the comics, and it was refreshing to see the close adaptation early in the film.

One of the harder to catch moments came during Peggy’s funeral. Sharon Carter delivered a eulogy and it feature a line straight from Captain America’s dialogue in the Civil War comics – more specifically – the Amazing Spider-Man #537 tie-in comic.ย
During the final battle between Captain America and Iron Man, the most well known cover from all of Civil War was realized in live-action form. Cap held up his shield as Iron Man blasted his energy beams at it. It was every comic fan’s dream.
