In the aftermath of Logan, which hit theaters over the weekend to a thunderous reception at the box office, many fans are left wondering how the story will continue in such a beautiful finale’s wake.

The common conclusion is that there is more story to be told for the big screen newcomer Laura Kinney, better known as X-23. With X-23’s story left completely open ended and a time traveler about to bust onto the scene in Deadpool 2, it’s entirely possible, if not probable, that 20th Century Fox has plans to bring Dafne Keen’s character back to the big screen.
If the studio makes the call, its young actress is already on board. Speaking to ComicBook.com in an exclsuive interview ahead of Logan‘s release, Keen simply says, “Yes,” to wanting her very own X-23 movie.
Beside her on the call: none other than Logan director James Mangold. When asked if he has thought about developing and X-23 film in which Keen can reprise her now fan-favorite role, he noted that he is following Keen’s lead in simply saying, “Yes,” as well.
If the fans have anything to say about it, Mangold and Keen will be teaming up for a sequel yesterday.
Originally introduced in the X-Men: Evolution animated series, X-23 became a staple of X-Men comics after being introduced to the books in 2004. Following the Death of Wolverine comic from 2014, X-23 took on the title of Wolverine, providing the filmmakers the perfect opportunity to replace Hugh Jackman‘s iconic role in the X-Men films without having to recast James Howlett.
Logan is now playing in theaters.
