Deadpool 2 has no issue drawing inspiration from the comics, and it seems one hilarious sequence in particular might be making a big screen debut.

Actor Ryan Reynolds can be seen in full Deadpool garb seated on a bright red scooter (via Daily Mail Celebrity) n some new set photos. Fans of the Deadpool comics might recognize that scooter from one memorable sequence in Deadpool #68.

The issue was written by Gail Simone with UDON on art duties and took place after an altercation with the Rhino totaled Deadpool’s car. He still had a mission to do though, involving the offing of a businessman. To complete his mission, he broke out a Deadpool-branded red scooter, and though he received some flak for his choice of ride, Deadpool insisted it was a motorbike and that it was “100% manly!”

Ironically, he still managed to complete the mission with his sweet Vespa by using the remnants of a desk to create a ramp to crash through a window and sail into his target’s headquarters. Not even a scooter will keep Deadpool from getting the job done.

Deadpool’s broken out the Vespa other times too, often in pursuit of someone else. Whether that is the reason for its inclusion here or the Simone-inspired sequence remains to be seen, but either way, fans can pretty much bet on the moment being hilarious, and that’s all anyone wants from the merc with a mouth.

The sequel is already pulling in Domino and Cable from the comics, and Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead will also be returning. With this mix of personalities, this should be one of the most entertaining films of the year.

Deadpool 2 currently has a 4.06 out of 5 on ComicBook.com’s anticipation rankings, and you can submit your vote here. The official description is included below.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters on June 1, 2018.
