As Hugh Jackman’s last hoorah as Wolverine – the upcoming Logan – began to hit the advertising hard, rumors started floating around about another popular character appearing in the film.

Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, is someone all fans want to see Jackman’s Wolverine team-up with on the big screen. The characters were often featured together in the comics, and the two actors have become pretty good friends over the years.

Rumors began surfacing that Deadpool would appear somewhere in Logan, which didn’t make a whole lot of sense to most fans. The new movie is supposed to be incredibly serious and that doesn’t match the nonsensical tone of Deadpool.
While both actors played down the rumor, they never fully denied it. Deadpool writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese however, has no problem shutting in down.
In a recent interview, Reese closed the door on the rumors, and confirmed every fan’s thoughts on the matter.
“Yeah, that’s not happening,” Rheese said. “The tones are just too different. I’m not sure exactly where that rumor came from, but Hugh and Ryan are really close and they really do want to work together and they really do want to see these characters come together, so in the long run, that rumor could become true โ that they’re in a movie together, but it’s just not ‘Logan.’ And no, not even an end credit scene.”
We will hopefully see some kind of crossover in the future, but it’s not happing in Logan.
