In 2016, Marvel Television and ABC announced that the Inhuman Royal Family would be coming to IMAX theaters before becoming a new Marvel television series on ABC. While Inhumans have been featured on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD already, the new Marvel’s The Inhumans series would focus on the most popular Inhumans, the Inhuman Royal Family.

The midseason premiere episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD may have given us the first hint at things to come. During the episode, titled “Broke Promises,” Agent Jemma Simmons goes undercover but ends up having to fight here way out of a bind. She arms herself with a taser that was hidden in her hair like a bobby pin.

What’s interesting about this is the shape of the taser. It appears like a tuning fork but with a jagged section towards one end, as seen in the image below. Jagged lines and a tuning fork are both hallmarks of Black Bolt the Inhuman king.

Black Bolt has a voice that can level mountain, and so doesn’t speak often. The tuning fork he wears on his head helps him focus the destructive potential of his voice. The jagged lines have been a feature of his costume since he was created by Jack Kirby, and are often used to represent the Inhumans aesthetically.

Simmons’ weapon dealt with electricity and not sounds, so this may be a stretch, but it could be possible that this taser is something that will serve as the basis for a tuning fork of some sort that SHIELD give to Black Bolt as a gift. Then again, it may have just been a prop designed wiht tuning forks and bobby pins for inspiration. Time will tell.
