The first real tease for Doctor Strange, Marvel’s next solo hero film, has arrived. With a trailer imminent this week, debuting tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live as part of their Marvel-focused week, the first official poster for the film was released.

The poster shows the titular Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch standing in front of the window of his Sanctum Sanctorum, his hidden-in-plain-sight home that in the comics has always been in lower Manhattan. His cloak of levitation flows behind him, and his head is tilted slightly down – whether that’s because of some sadness or contemplation, or is meant to be him looking down upon the people he’s now charged with protecting is yet to be seen, but it’s a very personal and emotional poster, especially compared to most superhero movie promos.
Doctor Strange hits theaters November 4, 2016. The film, directed by Scott Derrickson with Jon Spaihts writing the screenplay, will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
