Possible Deadpool 3 Directors Revealed

When Tim Miller’s test footage was leaked online back in August 2014 and received an overwhelmingly positive responsive, 20th Century Fox felt compelled to take Deadpool out of development hell — where it languished for years — and finally gave it a green-light. Once the film was finished, it tested so well that the studio began developing a sequel before its February release. As they had hoped, Deadpool was a hit right out of the gate, shattering box office records left and right and guaranteeing a follow-up.

Sadly, Deadpool 2 has already encountered some major issues, too. Director Tim Miller exited the project last month after butting heads with Ryan Reynolds over who should play Cable and what the film’s tone should be. Because of Miller’s departure, composer Junkie XL chose not to return for the follow-up as well.

Making sure not to lose the precious momentum gained from the first film, Fox didn’t waste any time searching for Miller’s replacement. And today, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that John Wick co-director David Leitch — who has been the frontrunner from the start — will indeed helm Deadpool 2.

Interestingly enough, during the director search (repeated today as well), THR reported that Fox is already working on a third film in the series and will supposedly feature the Merc with a Mouth teaming up with X-Force. To avoid any Deadpool 2-like hiccups, Fox has also been on the hunt for a Deadpool 3 director.

So, who might be up for Deadpool 3? Well, THR claims that Leitch was offered Deadpool 2 soon after he met with Reynolds in New York. Yet, they also claim Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman, Ghost in the Shell), Drew Goddard (wrote The Martian, executive producing The Defenders) and Magnus Martens (Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Luke Cage) are on Fox’s “to-meet list.” So, it seems more likely that those three directors are actually being considered for Deadpool 3.

If so, which of those three would you most like to see directing Deadpool 3?

Hold onto your chimichangas, folks. From the studio that brought you all 3 Taken films comes DEADPOOL, the block-busting, fourth-wall-breaking masterpiece about Marvel Comics’ sexiest anti-hero: me! Go deep inside (I love that) my origin story…typical stuff…rogue experiment, accelerated healing powers, horrible disfigurement, red spandex, imminent revenge. Directed by overpaid tool Tim Miller, and starring God’s perfect idiot Ryan Reynolds, Ed Skrein, Morena Baccarin, T. J. Miller and Gina Carano, DEADPOOL is a giddy slice of awesomeness packed with more twists than my enemies’ intestines and more action than prom night. Amazeballs!
