The oh so elusive Guardians of the Galaxy easter egg has yet to be found, though one dedicated fan thought he had it pegged, and took his findings to the cast at their most recent Heroes and Villains Fan Fest appearance.

The fan asked if James Gunn was in attendance, and Yondu star Michael Rooker had a bit of fun at his expense, as Gunn as not at the panel. He then launched into his theory.

"When Star-Lord is trying to sell the cosmic cube, the infinity stone, there's the Ankh symbol, the symbol of the Brotherhood of the Ankh created by the In-Betweener in the comic books, which was the balance between the opposing entities the Lord Chaos and Master Order."

The fact that he memorized all that is rather impressive on its own, but after a small bit of silence, Rooker says "Yeah, then what happens?"

The room laughs, with the fan saying "Well, it obviously sets up for the Infinity War story." Rooker doesn't miss a beat. "Yeah, so what?" The fan says "I was wondering if that was possibly the easter egg?" Rooker doesn't confirm it, either way, saying" You think so huh? Good thinking. Next!"

So that's most likely a no, though as we've learned with directors and actors before, it could very well be and it's just more fun to keep the mystery alive. Though that is most likely not the actual easter egg, as Gunn has previously stated " There's definitely one really big thing that people haven't seen, but they may never see it -- we'll see. There's other things, too,", and the Brotherhood of the Ankh symbol doesn't seem like it fits in that category.

Gunn's so sure it hasn't been discovered that he recently put $100,000 on the line. In response to a recent troll from a commenter, Gunn said: "Tainin Moores if there is no Easter egg I will give you a hundred thousand dollars - copy this post - I will consider it a legally binding contract - signed, James Gunn."

Hopefully at some point either someone discovers the easter egg or Gunn will finally take pity on everyone and reveal it.
