‘Thor: Ragnarok’: Surtur Spotted in Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout Ride

It may have only been open for a few months, but the Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT! ride has already included a ton of Marvel Cinematic Universe Easter eggs. Most recently, fans have spotted some references to the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok film.

The Marvel-themed ride in Disney’s California Adventure is going to be constantly updating to include new characters and features, and the latest change has added the devastating Surtur, one of the villainous creatures in Thor: Ragnarok.

In honor of Halloween, Mission BREAKOUT! has added an update called “Mission After Dark,” and it will include some of the more frightening characters in Marvel. Chief among them is Surtur, who’s composed of fire and brimstone and looks like something out of Lord of the Rings.

In the first image of Surtur in the ride, which you can see below, Surtur is breaking through a wall and chasing after Baby Groot. Luckily, it looks as though Rocket has come to the rescue.

Surtur has appeared in the Ragnarok trailers, with the memorable shot of Hulk leaping into his open jaws as the first trailer came to a close.

Thor: Ragnarok is set to hit theaters on November 3, 2017.
