We’re like fiends for James Gunn’s epic space team up film, which is currently our 3rd Most Anticipated Film as ranked by ComicBook readers, and now Empire Magazine can be thanked for sating the latest withdrawal with the release of a new image of two of the film’s protagonists.
Chris Pratt‘s Star-Lord and Dave Bautista‘s Drax take front and center in the new photo, with the earthling brandishing his trademark blasters while his companion forgoes blades for a heavy-duty rifle.
While speaking about the film, Pratt stopped himself from saying fans could “expect to see everything you loved in the first movie.”
โจโจ”Don’t expect to see everything you saw in the first movie,” Pratt corrected himself. “But expect to be charmed and thrilled and entertained like you were watching the first movie.”
He also said some kind words about new cast member Kurt Russell, who will play Ego the Living Planetโand Star-Lord’s father.
He said that playing the legendary actor’s son was an experience both “humbling and exceptional. He’s surpassed any expectation I could have had.”
We’ll see how Star-Lord feels about meeting his father for the first time, especially when the man who raised him, Michael Rooker’s Yondu, is standing by his side.
