That’s right, according to Inhumans showrunner Scott Buck, the new series will take place within the MCU.

During a Q&A with EW about The Inhumans, Buck was asked about the effects Agents of SHIELD would have on this series, as that show has also dealt with the Inhuman stories quite a bit. Buck revealed that they were in the same universe, so there are some potential consequences.

We all inhabit the same universe, so things that have happened on S.H.I.E.L.D.will potentially affect our show as well.

With so many Marvel properties coming from various networks and studios, it’s tough to say which ones will inhabit the MCU. Fortunately, Inhumans will take place within the storied franchise, so the crossover potential is there.

The Inhumans were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in the pages of Fantastic Four during the early days of the Marvel Universe. The secretive civilization was genetically engineered by the alien Kree during Earth’s pre-history. The Inhumans have mostly lived in seclusion in the city of Attilan, which periodically relocates to different areas on Earth and sometimes to the moon. More recently, the creation of two roving Terrigen Mist clouds have caused a sudden surge in Inhuman population and forced the Royals to leave the shadows and begin integrating with human society.

Marvel’s The Inhumans stars Anson Mount, Serinda Swan, Iwan Rheon, Ken Leung, Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, Mike Moh, Sonya Balmores and Ellen Woglom.

Roel Reine will direct the first two episodes, which will debut in IMAX theaters on Labor Day weekend before airing on ABC in the fall.
