It looks like Jessica Jones is back and ready to knock back a drink or two. Last month, production finally began on the second season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones, and fans have finally caught a glimpse of the leather-clad hero. Over on Tumblr, a slew of set photos from the season have just hit the Internet, and they show Krysten Ritter back in Jessica’s signature jacket alongside co-star Rachel Taylor.

The blog @mcufilming posted the photos not long ago, and fans have noted how nice it is to see Ritter smiling in-character. Of course, the actress may have just been cheesing for a photo, but fans are grateful nonetheless to see the character smiling.

Jessica Jones entered production for season two just over a month ago. Reports surfaced the show would begin filming in NYC in April. The first production locale was centered at the real-life home for Jessica’s Alias Investigations office.

For those fans who hope Ritter will bring Jessica’s smile to the show, they will want to reign back on that dream. A few weeks ago, the actress’ co-star Mike Colter said he’d heard season two will be a “dark and heavy” affair as always.

Speaking to fans at C2E2, Colter attended a panel and revealed he checks in with Krysten Ritter about her work as Jessica. The duo have talked about the show’s new season, and Colter said Ritter will go to dark places when Jessica Jones returns. The MCU Exchange reported that Colter told fans Ritter described the second season of “dark and heavy.”

The description matches previous information given by the series’ showrunner. Melissa Rosenberg told Empire last fall that the show would still have plenty of trauma to explore.

“She was kind of messed up even before Kilgrave came along and so in Season Two we can explore what’s possible for her moving forward,” Rosenberg said. “I learned from working on Dexter that you can advance the character, but you never want to cure the character…that trauma is a huge part of who she is now.”

Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a check.

The first season of the series starred Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker, and Carrie-Anne Moss. “Marvel’s Jessica Jones” is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg (“Twilight”, “Dexter”) and Liz Friedman (“Elementary”), along with Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Smallville,” “Heroes”), who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.

Jessica Jones‘ first season is streaming now on Netflix.
