This is only a second draft, so there’s no telling how close we are to the script being finalized, but the cover image alone offers a sense of the attitude Boone and Lee are trying to capture with their script.

New Mutants, created by X-Men legend Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod, was the first ever X-Men spinoff. The series followed a new class of young mutants attending Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, including Cannonball, Mirage, Karma, Wolfsbane, Sunspot, Warlock, Cypher, Magma, and Colossus’s sister Magik

Though unconfirmed, rumor has it that the film will feature Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik, and X-Men: Apocalypse‘s Alexandra Shipp reprising her role as Storm.

New Mutants is still without an official release date.
