Kotobukiya previewed a few new additions to their Bishoujo line of statues at San Diego Comic-Con, but they also had their new Thor Bishoujo on hand at the show, and Jane is looking fantastic.
The new statue is modeled after the current wielder of Mjolnir, Jane Foster, and from pose to paint application is one of my favorites thus far. Thor is modeled in a traditional character pose, where she holds her hammer to the sky, which is a welcome reprieve from some of the more suggestive poses the line has produced in the past.
Thor's armor features some beautiful paintwork on the black and brown fabric pieces of her outfit, and the silver armor has a nice glossy sheen. The sculpting on her cape is full and regal, and the detailing in her hair is second to none. Kotobukiya always seems to knock hair sculpting out of the park, but you can always display her with her helmet on if you prefer.
She comes on a rock base, and can be displayed alongside Kotobukiya's Loki Bishoujo, but the bases don't interconnect. Thor stands at nearly 12 inches tall and is based on the artwork of star illustrator Shunya Yamashita.
You can pre-order Thor from the Kotobukiya official store for $89.99, and she will be shipping in January of 2017. Make sure to view the photos of Koto's latest in the gallery.
