A new promo for Inhumans was posted earlier tonight on Marvel’s Twitter account. While it’s mostly recut footage from the show’s most recent trailer, it includes snippets of something new – two Attilan citizens undergoing terrigenesis. You can check it out below.

A chest full of Terrigen Crystals can be seen in the promo, which are then placed on the foreheads of a pair of hooded figures. The young Inhumans are then loaded into containment chambers, and look pretty uncertain about the whole process. Judging by the remainder of the promo, the process seems to have worked, as the woman Inhuman emerges with a set of large butterfly wings.

This differs pretty dramatically from the Terrigenesis seen on Inhumans‘ sister show, Marvel’s Agents of Shield. In that depiction, potential Inhumans are seen wrapped in a rock-like cocoon, before emerging with their full powers.

In the pages of Marvel Comics, the Terrigenesis process is largely seen as a special, selective honor, but it’s unclear if it will have the same significance in Inhumans. Fans will just have to wait until Marvel’s The Inhumans premieres in IMAX theaters on September 1, followed by its debut on ABC on September 29, to find out.

Marvel’s Inhumans explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family, including “Black Bolt,” the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city. After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.
