Variety reports that McMahon (Nip/Tuck, Charmed) has been cast in a mysterious role in the upcoming Hulu series. The series will follow a ragtag group of teenagers who are forced to unite after realizing that all of their parents are supervillains.
McMahon will be portraying Jonah, a character whose “origins and ultimate intentions are unknown,” but who will be “a pivotal player” in the arc of the series’ titular heroes.
“We’re incredibly excited to add Julian to our exceptional cast,” showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephenie Savage said, “and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the world of Marvel’s Runaways.”
McMahon is no stranger to the world of live-action Marvel Comics adaptations. He previously appeared as Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom in both Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Most recently, the actor can be seen on the fan-favorite BBC America series Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency.
Runaways debuts on Hulu later this year.
