Tuesday saw the embargo lift for set visit coverage of Doctor Strange, and with it information about the movie from interviews and observations when ComicBook.com and others visited the set in London last winter. While we’ll have many thousands of words printed about the film in the coming days, you know what they say about pictures!

In addition to the many images already released for the film, brand-new images debuted this morning. Some of them are shots from within Doctor Strange – production stills that show you snippets of the film. Others are behind-the-scenes shots taken by the on-set photographer, giving fans a glimpse of what it’s like to be on set with Benedict Cumberbatch, director Scott Derrickson, and more of the cast and crew that bring Marvel magic (literally in this case) to the screen. Whether it’s a shot of Strange’s first experiences with magic in the snow of Mt. Everest, Cumberbatch in full costume looking quite magical indeed, or Derrickson conveying some new information to his actors, there’s something withing these pictures that is sure to excite any fan anxious for the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A few of those images came directly from our time on the set, like Mordo and The Ancient One discussing Strange’s training, and whether he will prove to be adept with the mystic arts. The further shots of the many levels of those who train under these masters are intriguing, as well, showing that magic is much more prevalent (and much more tied to standard martial arts) than many in the Marvel Universe (or fans viewing it from the outside) might realize.
