You might notice something a little different at the start of future Marvel movies. In addition to unveiling a new logo, Marvel Studios unveiled a new intro that will be placed at the start of all their new movies.
The new introduction comes with fanfare by Michael Giacchino, the composer of scores for movies like The Incredibles, Star Trek, and Jurassic World. The intro starts with the now traditional flipbook style, flashing dozens of different panels from various classic Marvel comics. The animation gradually transitions to painted artwork of several of Marvel’s biggest stars, including the Hulk, Iron Man and Captain America. As the Marvel Studios logo begins to take shape, several movie clips showing other heroes like the Scarlet Witch, the Falcon, and Groot flash on the logo’s letters.
This marks a pretty big transition for Marvel Studios, as the new introduction puts an emphasis on the studio’s previous movies as opposed to Marvel’s comic book source material. Marvel Studio’s original intro, which debuted in 2013, only showcased the flipbook animation showing the comic panels.
