A new skit from The Late Show With Stephen Colbert campaigns for a Spider-Man: Homecoming spinoff starring Zach Cherry, who played a neighborhood street vendor encountered by Spider-Man (Tom Holland) early on in the movie.

“My life has been a non-stop thrill ride ever since I was the star of one scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming,” a straight-faced Cherry says in the clip. “I told Spider-Man to do a flip, and Spider-Man did a flip. So in a lot of ways, I was Spider-Man’s boss in the movie.”
The Late Show presents “The Making of Street Vendor,” with the “documentary” following Cherry’s journey to New York Comic Con, to “make a big announcement about the spinoff movie” starring the cheering street vendor. “Very fresh right now, nobody’s heard of it,” Cherry says, “including Marvel.”
The pitch for the spinoff centers around proposed superhero Street Vendor, with Cherry aiming to land ten million signatures in support of the idea. Cherry’s petition is presented to legendary Spider-Man artist and Venom co-creator Todd McFarlane, The Sixth Sense star Haley Joel Osment, Aladdin star Gilbert Gottfried (who calls it “a stupid idea” before sarcastically pledging to bring the idea to Steven Spielberg), and a team of Marvel editors โ unfortunately, Cherry’s efforts are relegated to a trailer, which you can watch in the clip above.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD.
