In the comic Spider-Men, one version of the character gets transported from his home dimension and ends up on an Earth foreign to his. Spider-Man meets that universe’s Spider-Man, they team up, beat down Mysterio, then everyone calls it a day.

The same thing kind of happened last week at the BAFTAs last week, but unfortunately no web swinging or villain-punching adventures were had. At least, that we know ofโ€ฆ

While on the red carpet for the ceremony last week, a happy fan managed to capture the moment where current Spider-Man actor Tom Holland met his predecessor Andrew Garfield and exchanged a few words.

โ€จWe can only hope Tobey “Tugboat” Maguire was watching from afar, smiling.

The fan captured the meeting and snapped a few shots, though we can’t hear what was actually said between the two.

Holland, who took home this year’s Rising Star honors at the award show, spoke about the moment afterwards, calling him a “really lovely guy.”

“He’s everything I hoped he’d be,” Holland said. “He is a brilliant actor, too. I have always been a fan of his work. And I really look forward to picking his brains and seeing if he has any advice for me.”

Garfield, who can currently be seen in Hacksaw Ridge, portrayed the character for in the Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel alongside Emma Stone. Rumors spread quickly after the second film that Sony was unhappy with the financial performance of the second filmโ€”thanks to the Sony e-mail hackโ€”and that the production company was looking to work with Marvel Studios for the character’s future.

When Sony and Marvel finally struck a deal, they decided to recast the character with a younger actor and Tom Holland got the role, making his on-screen debut in Captain America: Civil War.
