Watch All of the 2017 Super Bowl Movie Trailers Here!

The 2017 Super Bowl LI between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons was an epic matchup – but like any Super Bowl, there was as much anticipation for the high-profile lineup of Super Bowl commercials as there was for the game itself.

With those Super Bowl commercials, came the traditional lineup of movie trailers for upcoming big releases. With the 2017 lineup including films like Logan (aka Wolverine 3), Transformers 5, Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 (just to name a few sequels), the wait for Super Bowl trailers was well worth it.

Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2

This latest trailer for Marvel breakout hit franchise sequel gives us some new villains, a new team roster of (quasi-)heroes, and the great throbbing baseline of Fleetwood Mack’s “The Chain.” 

Transformers: The Last Knight

Michael Bay’s Transformers movies are know for favoring epic blockbuster spectacle over things like a coherent, gripping, storyline. We can at least say that Transformers: The Last Knight excels in the area of visual spectacle, as this newest selection of footage is as eye-catching as everything we’ve seen before.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Pirates 5 looks like a much better “fresh start” for the franchise, adding in some of the cool supernatural elements (the undead) that made the first film so much fun. 

Aside from our first look at Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow back on deck, we also got much better looks at Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem) and the ominous magic that bringing dead things back to life on the high seas.

The Fate of the Furious

Fast and the Furious 8 looks just as over-the-top and crazy as the last few installments have all been; the added draw this time is seeing the team having to battle their leader, Dom (Vin Diesel). 

We were kind of hoping to see more of Diesel vs. The Rock in the trailer, but that’s probably being saved for the main event…  

Logan

Wolverine 3 looks unlike any X-Men movie we’ve ever seen – a wonderful departure that seems to put Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine on an exciting final run, alongside veterans like Patrick Stewart’s Prof. X, and newcomers like Dafne Keen’s X-23.

Baywatch

A year ago, if you would have asked us if putting Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron in a movie together was a good idea, we would’ve looked at you like you were crazy.

Now, it’s undeniable: the two make a great comedic odd couple. See for yourself: 

John Wick: Chapter 2

Keanu Reeves returns this week as John Wick – and this Super Bowl trailer let’s everyone know that there’s a rip-roarin’ violent opera good time to be had with the sequel.

Ghost In The Shell

Scarlett Johansson looks badass, but director Rupert Everett (Snow White and the Huntsman) continues to favor atmosphere and outlandish visuals over selling audiences on action, character or story. 

All in all, somewhat of a wasted opportunity for a TV spot – but the visuals may have that “Matrix effect” on Super Bowl viewers just learning of the film’s existence…. 

Life

The masses got a look at Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal’s new movie Life during the Super Bowl, and it definitely left an impression. 

This movie (about six astronauts who discover the wrong sort of life on Mars), will draw understandable comparisons to the original Alien, based on what’ sin this trailer; hopefully, the actual film lives up to that legacy. 

Honorable Mention: Stranger Things

It’s not coming to a theater near you, but it will be where you Netflix and chill this Halloween!  

Strangers Things is a pop-culture phenomenon now, and this season 2 teaser looks so epic we just HAD to include it.
