The new teaser (revealed via IGN) features both the Odinson formerly known as Thor and Spider-Man Miles Morales and continues the ongoing motif of two characters separated by a shattering. While Miles is wearing his usual costume, the Odinson has an all-new look, with close-cropped hair, a full beard, and a new costume.

Odinson’s new costume looks a somewhat reminiscent of the costume of the Thor from the Ultimate Marvel universe. This is interesting for two reasons. First, the Odinson is sharing a teaser with Miles Morales, one of the few survivors of the Ultimate Marvel universe following the events of Secret Wars. However, this could just be a coincidence since there’s been no noticeable connection between the characters sharing past Marvel NOW! teasers.

The second point of interest is that, while Ultimate Thor didn’t make it out of Battleworld, his hammer was seen appearing in the new Marvel Universe at the end of the Thors miniseries. The Odinson himself has been without a hammer since he was made unworthy of Mjolnir during the events of Original Sin. Jane Foster has since taken up the hammer and become Thor, leaving Odinson in a state of identity crisis. Some fans have wondered if the Odinson may take control of the Ultimate Marvel universe’s Mjolnir, but the teaser does show the Odinson wielding an axe, most likely Jarnbjorn, the enchanted axe that the Odinson favored in his youth, before he was worthy of Mjolnir, and has taken up again since becoming unworthy once more.

We can only speculate on the Odinson’s change in appearance for now. Marvel will reveal more details about the Marvel NOW! initiative in a special issue of Previews releasing this July. You can see the full teaser, along with the other Marvel NOW! teasers released so far, in the gallery below.
