A new Thor: Ragnarok trailer was released at San Diego Comic-Con and among the many new characters featured we got to see a first look at Fenris Wolf!

The massive wolf creature is an Asgardian best who is supposedly the offspring of Loki and a “giantess” named Angrboda, and the basis for the wolf creature in the “Little Red Riding Hood” story. In Marvel Comics he was part of invasion of Asgard by Loki and Surtur the fire demon, and is even prophesied to one day devour Odin.
In the Thor: Ragnarok trailer, we see Fenris Wolf battling The Hulk in the fight for Asgard. That would suggest that creature will be henchman (henchbeast?) for new villains Hela (Cate Blanchette) and Surtur The Fire Demon, in their siege of Asgard.
That may not be the characterization that hardcore Thor fans want, but it should be fun moment in Thor: Ragnarok‘s action-packed storyline!
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming are in theaters now, followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Ant-Man and the Wasp is slated for July 6, 2018, followed by Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019.
