Taika Waititi’s take on the Thor franchise will seemingly embrace the wider Marvel Universe after two films focusing mostly on Asgardian affairs.

And though the alien/Norse kingdom will still feature prominently in new movie, Thor: Ragnarok is taking a page from Captain America: Civil War‘s book when it puts the title character up against the Incredible Hulk.
Principal photography on Thor: Ragnarok has since wrapped and the film is in post-production, but anyone familiar with how Marvel Studios movies are made won’t be surprised to learn that the movie will receive some reshoots.
A post to Mark Ruffalo‘s Facebook page indicates he’s undergoing such reshoots right now, in the process of applying the motion-capture dots to his face to capture his digital likeness.
The Facebook post cannot be embedded, but here’s a screencap with a link directly to the page:

UP NEXT: Is Hela Working for Thanos?
Thor: Ragnarok will be adapting a portion of the Planet Hulk comic book storyline by Greg Pak, Carlo Pagulayan, and Aaron Lopresti. In that story, the Hulk is exiled to the planet Sakaar where he is enslaved and forced to partake in gladiatorial battles against other aliens.
In the film, the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) will be running the war games when he comes across Thor, his hammer destroyed and cast to the other side of the galaxy. The trailer depicts a humorous moment between the two Avengers when Thor finally runs into Hulk, who hasn’t been seen since the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the two are pit against each other.
Thor: Ragnarok is set to lead heavily into Avengers: Infinity War, much like Captain America: Civil War. It’ll be interesting to see how Hulk and Thor make it back to help out their companions. Maybe they’ll catch a ride from some Earth-bound Guardians of the Galaxy?
Thor: Ragnarok is in theaters November 2.
