TV Shows
With Marvel Studios developing several TV shows, including a few Netflix series, the announcement on Thursday morning could involve any number of series.
The Defenders is deep into production. The Inhumans is getting ready to dive in for ABC. Cloak & Dagger is in the works at Freeform.
Casting, logos, synopsis, or trailers are all exciting possibilities. However, if Marvel is going to tease a major announcement -- something they rarely do -- they will have to deliver.
Movies
In 2014, Marvel Studios held a sudden event in Los Angeles in which they announced their slate of movies through 2019. It came on the heels of Warner Bros. and DC Films announcing their massive slate.
Recently, DC Films announced a new film in Black Adam, as well as a couple of other updates for their films. Marvel Studios may be countering the DC Films news lately with some announcements of their own.
If this is, in fact, Marvel Studios movie news, there are a few possibilities of what it can be. The Inhumans movie is still in limbo, the fourth Avengers film still needs a title, and there are three Marvel Studios titles scheduled without release dates: May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020 and November 6, 2020.

As the schedule stands now, there is no Marvel Studios film following Avengers: Infinity War Part II until a year later -- only Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 which is technically a film from Sony follows. A film to bridge that gap is a possibilities and any of the aforementioned events would satisfy hungry Marvel fans.
Furthermore, Avengers: Infinity War started filming this week, prompting a good chance that this is a movie related event.
With three movies having wrapped production, trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok are all possibilities.
Comics
With Civil War II coming to a close soon, Marvel may be announcing another major comic book event.
The All-New Marvel Now is just starting to get off the ground and will be shaken in the aftermath of Civil War II, due for another event which will see its biggest heroes crossing paths again.
Many fans might hope to see the Captain America title be a lead-in for the next big event, with HYDRA Cap having become one of the biggest moments in Marvel Comics history.
Video Game
Given Square Enix having an announcement coming on the same day, its possible that Marvel and the video game manufacturer will team up to put Marvel characters in Kingdom Hearts or an entirely new title.
