Fans of X-Men will be pleased to see a slew of familiar heroes will be part of the series. Everyone from Blink to Thunderbird will star in the new show, and The Gifted is now giving fans an up-close look at the characters. Thanks to the Internet, fans can watch short introduction videos for each of The Gifted‘s main characters.

The clips, which can be found in the following slides, give a brief look at what The Gifted‘s main cast has to offer. You can learn more about the show and its powerful mutants below!

Reed Strucker

Reed Strucker will be someone who X-Men fans are not quite acquainted with yet. The character, who is played by Stephen Moyer, will be the patriarch of The Gifted‘s main clan. The man is a government employee who finds himself on the run when his two children begin exhibiting mutant gifts and they come under suspicion by the Sentinel Services.

Caitlin Strucker

Unlike Reed Strucker, his wife Caitlin is the more approachable matriarch of the family. The woman acts as a go-to mentor figure to her children Lauren and Andy, and she becomes their greatest advocate when an incident broadcasts their mutant gifts to their small hometown.

Lauren Strucker

It’s not quite clear what kind of powers Lauren Strucker wields, but fans can rest assure that they are destructive. The young girl is the eldest child of the Strucker family, and her gifts allow her to move things either telepathically or through some sort of invisible forces. The Gifted will follow the girl as she mentors her brother Andy with his growing powers, but their once-peaceful life will fall apart when the world catches wind of their unique gifts.

Andy Strucker

Much like his sister Lauren, Andy Strucker has some powerful mutant gifts which he just can’t control. Previous trailers for The Gifted show the boy as a loner amongst his high school peers, and his gravity-centric powers go berserkย during a school-wide event. When the world discovers the presence of his and his sister’s mutant gifts, Andy and his family will find themselves on the run to evade imprisonment

Blink

Blink will be a familiar name to X-Men fans given her comic book history. The character will appear courtesy of Clarice Fong and use her teleportation gifts to help the Strucker family and other underground mutants to escape the Sentinel Services which are pursuing them.

Eclipse

There is not much known about the hero Eclipse, but fans know enough to be worried about the unstable mutant. Played by Marcos Diaz, the character has the unique ability to manipulate photons and the light around him.

Thunderbird

Thunderbird is a classic X-Men character who will be making his live-action debut in The Gifted. The character sports some insane super-human senses and stamina. The man’s gifts make him a perfect tracker, and it looks like the Fox series will use Thunderbird to help find mutants in distress when they are under investigation by the Sentinel Services.

Polaris

X-Men fans should be very familiar with the name Polaris. The iconic character is one of the franchise’s most recognizable heroines thanks to her green hair and magnetic presence. Polaris has the ability to control magnetism like her comic-canon father Magneto. It’s not clear how the girl’s origins will be changed in The Gifted, but one thing is for sure; Polaris still looks as dangerous as ever.

Agent Turner

Outside of allย The Gifted‘s good guys, there will also be a slew of baddies. Agent Turner will be one of the villains who audiences hope gets what is coming to him. The man will be member of the federal government’s Sentinel Services which tracks down mutants once their powers manifest.

You can find the synopsis forย The Giftedย below.

The Giftedย tells the story of a suburban couple whose ordinary lives are rocked by the sudden discovery that their children possess mutant powers.

Reed (Stephenย Moyer, Shots Fired, True Blood) and Caitlin (Amyย Acker, Person of Interest, Angel)ย Struckerย are typical middle-class parents dealing with the realities of raising a family. However, when their teenage kids, Lauren (Natalieย Alynย Lind,ย Gotham) and ANDY (Percyย Hynesย White, Night at the Museum 3), are involved in an incident at their high school which reveals they are mutants, Reed and Caitlin do all in their power to protect their children. Forced to go on the run, theย Struckersย must leave behind their old lives to flee from a relentless government agency that tracks down mutants, the Sentinel Services, which includes Agentย Jaceย Turner (Cobyย Bell, Burn Notice). Complicating matters further is the fact that Reed is a prosecutor in the district attorney’s office tasked with going after mutants.

Desperate and running low on options, the family’s only choice is to contact an underground network that helps mutants in trouble. The mutants in the network โ€“ Eclipse / Marcosย Diazย (Seanย Teale, Reign), Blink / Clariceย Fongย (Jamie Chung,ย Gotham), Polaris / Lorna Dane (Emmaย Dumont, Aquarius) andย Thunderbirdย / Johnย Proudstarย (Blair Redford, Satisfaction) โ€“ are dealing with their own issues. With one of their members in prison and their team possibly compromised, they face an uncertain future in a world that looks increasingly dangerous for mutants.

The Giftedย premieres October 2 at P.M. on FOX.
